So when they met, it was undeniable: He was it. His jovial smile brightened her day each time she caught a glimpse. He challenged her decisiveness, but never failed to encourage and support her. And his spirit soared in the simple ways of life that made her feel free.
The best part about this feeling was that he was just as certain as she. He adored the fire in her eyes and the kindness in her heart, her sheer determination that never seemed to quiet her compassion. And, around her, he was simply better.
We celebrated with Laura and Justin on their two wedding days. First, we joined them as they committed to one another with in signing their Ketubah. Later that week, the party grew as they promised forever before all their friends and family.
Laura and Justin have been together since early in their years at the University of Kansas. This day had been anticipated by many for a quite a while. The excitement of its arrival was clear on both of their faces when they first saw each other that day.
Later that week, we got back together with Laura, Justin, and their families for the formal ceremony where they pulled out all the stops to celebrate their love. While the girls were getting ready, the boys relaxed a bit with some bowling. I’m not sure if Justin took top honors bowling that day, but he does have some of the best moves I’ve seen in quite a while. (They also manifested themselves on the dance floor later that evening.)Laura loves all things vintage. The bracelet was her grandmother’s. The lace on her blue wedding dress was the lace from her Mother’s wedding dress, and her bouquet–and those of the bridesmaid’s–were made with vintage brooches and buttons. It was a flawlessly executed theme. Two of the most beautiful people we’ve come to know . . . inside and out.One of Laura’s requests for their day was to have a bird’s eye view of their first look. While I was on the ground with Laura and Justin, Pete nabbed these shots from above. It is such a cool way to observe a moment that will live forever. These two images are some of my favorites from the whole day. Laura and Justin had fantastically fun wedding party that included her sister (and former BTP bride), Leah! The ceremony began with some beautiful music, setting the mood for a wonderful celebration.Exchange the rings. Kiss the bride. Break the glass. Mazel tav!See this cake? Yeah, that’s Allen Fieldhouse. See that Jayhawk? It’s made out of cake, too. See those sprinkles? There are thousands of them all celebrating Laura and Justin. Absolutely the coolest cake we’ve ever seen. The best thing about Laura and Justin…is each other.
