Steff + Kevin: Married (Part I)

There was magic in the air.  It could have been that it was the last day of the year, and everyone was anxious to see what the turning of the calendar would bring.  It could have been that the chill of winter was finally settling in and teasing us that the first snowfall of the season was near.  But many woke up that morning knowing it was a special kind of magic.  It was magic by a buzz of excitement that could mean only one thing today: Steff and Kevin were getting married.

This was a magic that was present from the first moment they were together.  She knew it.  He knew it. Everyone knew it.  Because at their highest joy, their deepest lows, and every minute in between, they were there for one another. Encouraging each other. Holding the other up. Leading them back to the place where they belonged: with each other.

We are so excited to share Steff and Kevin’s New Year’s Eve wedding with you.  It was the perfect way to close an amazing 2011 and start what is sure to be a spectacular 2012.

Steff was as cool, calm, and collected as brides come.  And remember that magic I was talking about? It’s is abounding from this smile.Steff found THE perfect details to incorporate winter romance into every aspect of their big day.  The result was stunning.
Every detail, right down to the way Steff wore her dress, was amazing.This day had so many stunning images that it’s hard to pick my favorite.  This one is very close to the top.  The symbolism of her climbing the stairs, alone for now, in her wedding dress gets me every time.This is the competition the above image faces for “personal favorite.”  Simply stunning.This is what we like to call Kevin’s “Steff smile.” Everything about his face lights up simply at the sound of her name. 

You thought that smile was big before?  Just wait until he sees Steff for the first time. . .

Steff and Kevin had an ultra fun wedding party who endured a very blustery day for some outdoor shots. I’ve got my love to keep me warm. . .Dear Steff, Kevin, and  super awesome wedding party: thank you for being so ridiculously fun and helping us ring in the new year in style.

Inside the reception hall, New Year’s decorations and noisemakers were waiting to make their late-night appearance. In the meantime, we found plenty of noisemakers just outside the reception hall.

Apparently God liked Steff’s choice of wedding accent color so much He decided to paint the sky purple that night, too.
